This competency-based course is the first in a sequence of three designed for welding. It provides students with technical instruction and practical experience in basic welding which incorporates principles of sustainable and green technology. Emphasis is placed on resource management, trade mathematics, welding symbols and codes, welding metallurgy, tools and equipment, and the techniques involved in surface welds, oxyacetylene, cutting, brazing, welding tubing, and shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). $900 plus Lab Fee / 180 hrs
